Would You Spend Over $2,000 for Loc Jewelry?

Recently I stumbled upon a new brand that is “bringing 18 karat gold to loc jewelry” and I must say — at first I was triggered. From seeing the brand visuals to landing on their website and exploring their collection the shock of the price tags made me clutch my pearls! You know I am all for adorning your locs in creative ways, but admittedly I never considered an adornment to be $2,000+ for ONE piece! 🫠 My first visit to the land of loc jewelry luxury was hurtful, like going into Toys’RUs and your mama telling you she ain’t buying you nothing type of hurt. I left the site. And you know I was hurt because I didn’t even join their newsletter. But that experience changed something for me.

The website planted a seed that started to take root in my belief system. An idea began to grow louder and louder. While I already hold the belief that my crown does deserves the best; I now wondered when I put a number on it. I started questioning if $2,000+ was actually a small price to pay to adorn my crown?! And maybe it’s no coincidence that I found myself back on their page again, but this time with a more open mind. I began to read their posts about their intention to make luxury hair jewelry with gold and diamonds that can be passed down through generations. And as much as I love finding combs and tools that were used by my ancestors, wouldn’t it be an honor to have an adornment as an heirloom to pass down to my daughter?!

I went from triggered to intrigued, but I’m curious what your thoughts are— would you spend over $2,000 for loc  jewelry? Or should I say “invest”… would you invest $2,000 in loc jewelry? Let me know in the comments and make sure you click here to join the community!
