My locs are a little over 14 months old and while I’m still in “the awkward phase” I’m working on figuring out styles and ways to embrace this stage as much as I can. Last week, I completed my Cosmetology training at the Aveda Institute (YAY!!!) and to celebrate the end of one chapter of my life and new beginnings coming forth I decided to cut the back row of my locs into an undercut!

I’m in love with my new undercut and glad that my locs are long enough to camouflage it when they’re down. After I did the undercut, of course I had to add a pop of color :-)!
Check out my latest video “Undercut on My Locs!” to see my new color and latest hairstyle!

Love it. I’ve been contemplating shaving my back for months. My nape is weak and the dreads back there are small and fragile. I may cut them and just start anew.
Do you plan to grow it out or will you rock this for a minute?

I followed that rule mostly until about 8 months pregnant when I bleached and colored my undercut. […]
