Twisted Bun Updo Hairstyle Tutorial

This is a quick video tutorial [HERE] of two updo hair styles. These styles can be done on loose natural hair, locs, or Sisterlocks.

What you’ll need:
– Hair Pins
– Bobby Pins

Step by Step:

[Step 1] Twist your hair, starting from the nape to the top of your head, into 3 twists. Secure the twists with a bobby pin.

[Step 2] Put 2 twists on the left side, starting from the front to the center point where the twists in the back stop. Secure the twists with a bobby pin.

[Step 3] Secure the hair from the upwards twists into a bun with the bobby pins. Any hair that sticks out, use the hair pins to make the bun neat.

Style #1: Leave the right side out and allow the hair to hang as a side bang. You could also swoop the bang and pin it.

Style #2: Put 2 twists on the right side, starting from the front to the center point where the twists in the back stop. Be sure to leave some hair in the front.

[Step 4] Twist the hair in the front to the end.
[Step 5] Pull the twisted hair straight back and secure with a bobby pin. Voila!

I really want to thank Katrina, a fellow natural, for allowing me to use some of her dope music for the video! Make sure you check out her YouTube channel [HERE] for more of her songs!
If you try the style, please feel free to send in a video response on YouTube [HERE] or post a picture below on the Facebook Wall [HERE].
