The answer is YES! Yes, you can use too much moisturizer on your locs. In fact, I see people doing it all too often and that’s what prompted this video tutorial.
Many times people believe that when they are applying moisturizer to their locs they need to drench their hair. This misconception has probably cost so much money because you’ve used up products faster than you needed to. In the video “Are You Using Too Much Moisturizer??” I show you how much moisturizer is too much and I also demonstrate how much moisturizer to use.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU USE TOO MUCH MOISTURIZER
Did you know using too much moisturizer and/or using a moisturizer too often can actually weaken the hair?! Imagine your hair is in the bed resting under the covers, then you moisturize it and wake it up while also lowering the covers. Sounds real uncomfortable, right? Essentially your hair gets mad at you for waking it up too often— she’s trying to chill. So instead of over moisturizing, I want you to adopt a “less is more” approach with your locs and see if you can feel a difference.
