All these bloggers out here thinking they know about hair. If they were really about that life they would go to school for real knowledge.
That was the statement that made me take my passion for hair care and education seriously. I was so serious, that I quit my corporate job as an Engineer and enrolled in a Cosmetology Science curriculum at the Aveda Institute in DC. At Aveda, I gained hair care knowledge that I could have never found online (and still don’t find online to this day).
How I Make A Difference
As a Blogger, I’ve realized that women are often overwhelmed with product choices for their hair condition and seek advice from others with the same problems— usually through Google or YouTube. On the flip side, as a Cosmetologist, I see how strongly a Blogger can influence product and lifestyle choices, to the point where people no longer trust or seek a professional opinion.
So how do I make a difference within these two distinct schools of thought?
I’m glad you asked, because I’ve made it my mission to bridge this gap between the professional and consumer, by blending my personal experience and professional expertise to help you cultivate healthy hair. I firmly believe everyone should understand their hair and be knowledgeable enough to make informed product and hair care decisions.
Education is Key
In 2015, I founded the Digital Loctician Academy, an online textured hair care institute, educating not only the everyday woman but Hair Care Professionals and aspiring Cosmetologists. I also share education through the articles that I share here on my blog and video content that I create on my YouTube channel.
Join me on a journey to healthy hair and creating standards of education for textured hair and locs.
