#NuGrowthChallenge Week 3 Update

Week 3— My roots have a mind of their own! This is typically the week that I’d retwist my locs and truthfully I almost had a moment of weekness— but ya’ll saved me!

If you’re following me on Periscope (which I hope you are), this past weekend you got the notification that said “OMG! My Edges” and joined me for the #NuGrowthChallenge-Saving-Scope! After being talked off of the [Retwisting] Ledge I decided to create a few headbands to help take the focus off of my hairline. So far I’ve created two designs but now that I have a pattern created, I hope to make a few more with some of the other patterns you voted for during the Periscope.

Hello following you on the #nugrowth challenge. It has been 4 weeks for me since my last wash and re-twist.Going to wash my hair next week while home on vacation and that will be the test not to re-twist my loc’s because I am going to color them. Check back next week.

Are you going to share how you made your headbands? They look great!

I didn’t make it…I started the challenge with high hopes, and my first two weeks were pretty good, but…my locs are not mature, and while the back was doing okay (a few tried to get “married”, but no big deal) the front was CRAZY!! They simply fell apart after washing…looked like loose hair, with some random buds and loced parts here and there, and they just would NOT stay together. I will definitely do this again after the front locs get more mature, but for now, I just retwisted. I will continue to follow the challenge and I hope everyone else is doing well.

Thank you for joining and it is ok to try again in the future — They will be mature before you know it!
