I purchased the L’Oréal hair chalks awhile ago when I spotted a picture of CurlyNikki with a fun blue-purple ombré using hair chalk.
What really interested me about the L’Oréal brand Hair Chalk was that the hair chalk is a liquid that dries like a powered substance, which gives it the vibrancy. Today, I just felt like jazzing up my locs with a little color so I grabbed these hair chalks from my product stash. It’s really quick and easy to apply so I did a few highlights on both sides of my head.
Personally I didn’t like the the green one (I thought it was going to be turquoise) which is why there’s more purple. The color is suppose to last 2-3 shampoos, which on loose hair is probably a week or two but since I have locs and shampoo my hair once or twice a month, I’ve found that it lasts for several months, not as vibrant, but there are still hints of it in my locs from when I first tried it to use it.
Update: I DO NOT recommend this Hair Chalk for locs! Read this updated post “How to Remove Hair Chalk Buildup“, to see why.
